Alex Al Trautwig, the famed sportscaster and voice of the MSG Network, is dead. He was 68. His son Alex told the Associated Press that he died on Sunday, Feb. 23, at his home in Long Island due to complications from cancer.

Trautwig was most notably part of the MSG Network in New York City, spending various time serving as the host of the pre- and postgame coverage for the New York Yankees, New York Knicks and New York Rangers.

Longtime MSG Network broadcaster Al Trautwig has died, his former teammate Alan Hahn revealed in a post on X. He was 68. Trautwig had told Newsday last year shortly after his 68th birthday that he had undergone cancer treatment, though he did not say what type of cancer it had been.
