Superman' director James Gunn shares the inside story of making the movie and talks 'Supergirl,' 'Peacemaker' Season 2, Wonder Woman and DCU's future

James Gunn is looking back on the "terrible" experience of telling Henry Cavill he was being replaced as Superman by David Corenswet.

Horowitz asked Gunn about how he was able to break the news to Cavill, who portrayed Superman in several films, including 2013’s “Man of Steel” and 2016’s “Batman v Superman,” after he publicly announced in October 2022 that he would be returning as Superman.

"This started out as the worst day of my life, but I actually think it's the best day of my life," Gunn recalled thinking on the day he was fired.
