Two police officers died in a Sunday night shooting in Tremonton while responding to a domestic disturbance call.

Sorensen made a lasting impact within the community through his 16 years of service with the Tremonton Garland Police Department. He was recently promoted to Sergeant and planned to be sworn in to his new role on August 22.

Tonight, the Box Elder County Parade will take place in Tremonton at 5 p.m. in partnership with ACE hardware to showcase local businesses, clubs, and talent honoring community members and paying tribute to Sergeant Sorensen and Officer Estrada. It will run from 600 South to 600 North along Tremont Street.
