UFC, Lil Wayne and Dustin Poirier
Digest more
Lil Wayne's unexpected no-show at a UFC event left fans speculating about his health after a rare public appearance sparked viral concern.
After hinting at the possibility in recent weeks, Poirier (30-9 MMA, 22-8 UFC) confirmed Wednesday that rap legend Lil Wayne will accompany him during his final UFC walk. Lil Wayne's presence won't deter Poirier from sticking with his classic walkout music, however. Poirier will still walk to James Brown's "The Boss" as he long has.
The UFC event broke records, with over 18,000 fans packed the arena where they watched, heckled and cheered as two fighters clashed in a cage. Theo Von, Lil Wayne and other celebrities were in attendance.
Six of the first seven fights have lines -300 or greater. Here are my predictions for the full UFC 318 card: It’s a trilogy fight in the lightweight division, and Poirier won the first two fights but still enters Saturday as an underdog at home.
