Phoenix recently pulled out of settlement talks in a lawsuit brought by a woman who a judge said was wrongly charged in the death of a police officer.

According to police, officers arrived, and the man was outside holding a hatchet. Police told the man to drop the hatchet, but he reportedly began walking toward them. One officer deployed a less-lethal weapon, but police say the suspect kept advancing.

Police were involved in a deadly shooting early Tuesday morning at a Phoenix restaurant. The incident occurred around 4 a.m. at an IHOP restaurant near 19th and Northern avenues.

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A boy is dead after a car hit him while he was walking with his mother in east Phoenix on Monday night. It happened just after 8 p.m. near 36th Street and McDowell Road. When officers got to the scene, the victim was unconscious and in critical condition. He was rushed to the hospital, where he later died.

The report details an interaction with Rebekah Baptiste and her family that occurred in April of 2025. The 10-year-old girl was murdered in July.
