The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a missing person after five people were recovered from a sinking boat near Staten Island on Sunday afternoon.

Three people died following a boating accident Sunday afternoon, according to the NYPD. The incident happened around noon in the Ambrose Channel, police said. Three people were taken to local hospitals where they were pronounced dead.
