Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred hinted that radical realignment could be coming to the sport, and Mets radio announcer Howie Rose says the American and National Leagues will “cease to exist” as a result.
In addition to its strong success with the Portland Beavers, there are plenty of MLB cities with a lower populace than the City of Roses. Portland trumps Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Kansas City, Cleveland and Milwaukee in populace, and when the Trail Blazers have been good in the past, the fans come out.
The premise of the realignment would be to make the league more geographically sound, limiting the amount of travel and giving a more appealing product to television and/or streaming networks. The realignment listed below has the Yankees and Red Sox staying together,
