Wide receiver Tyquan Thornton plans to sign with the Kansas City Chiefs on their practice squad, a source told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Monday. Thornton was waived on Saturday by the New England Patriots and cleared waivers Monday.

There was a lot of hype surrounding the speedy Thornton after the Patriots drafted him in the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Baylor. Bill Belichick and Matt Groh drafted Thornton ahead of George Pickens, who went two picks later to the Steelers and has been one of Pittsburgh's top playmakers since coming into the league.

Tyquan Thornton will hope a change of scenery can alter the course of his NFL career. The former New England Patriots wide receiver signed onto the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media.
