As Boston Red Sox fight to make the postseason, September additions to their roster that could produce a high-priced odd man out.

Baltimore and Boston meet for a short two-game series in Boston. The season series is tied between the two teams at 4-4 through games. However, the Orioles have been the slightly hotter team recently at 4-1 over the last five games compared to the Red Sox who are 3-2.

Boston will enter the series in control of one of the AL’s three wild card slots. The Red Sox hold a slight lead over the Yankees for second place in the AL East. They possess a powerful lineup led by Trevor Story, Alex Bregman, Wilyer Abreu and Jarren Duran.

The Red Sox lost to the Miami Marlins on Sunday afternoon, but Jarren Duran continues to make an impact up and down the stat sheet.

Jakob Marsee tees off and crashes a home run into right field. Wagaman scores from first and the Marlins lead it 5-3 at a suddenly much quieter Fenway Park. Gregg Weissert had come in for Garrett Whitlock but after giving up that home run he is out of the game for Steven Matz.
