Dozens of active duty and former Navy SEALs are assisting search and recovery efforts in Texas Hill County in the wake of the deadly flooding last week.

Within six years of opening, Camp Mystic was inundated with floodwaters.

“It’s hard not to feel like you are surrounded by a higher power when you’re down there, because it’s just so beautiful,” my friend Olivia Marrus told me.
