Luke Fortner is the newest member of the New Orleans Saints. The center was traded by the Jacksonville Jaguars for defensive tackle Khalen Saunders . Saunders had been listed behind newly acquired Davon Godchaux on the Saints' depth chart, and Fortner is projected to serve as the backup for Pro Bowl center Erik McCoy.
Tight ends Taysom Hill and Foster Moreau will start the season on the physically unable to perform list (PUP), while WR Bub Means, G Nick Saldiveri, C Will Clapp and TE Mason Pline will be on injured reserve.
