MassDOT says it is routinely inspecting overpass bridge joints across Massachusetts throughout the winter. The Prudential Tunnel is inspected every two years and is currently being fully inspected, officials said. Officials said the tunnel is safe and will remain fully open, with any additional work or lane closures taking place overnights.

MassDOT said they have conducted inspects across over 150 points throughout the Boston-area tunnel system after concrete came crashing down on drivers in the Prudential Tunnel last week.

Five crews fanned out overnight and inspected 154 locations across six tunnels. A Department of Transportation spokesperson said the inspections "identified no additional areas requiring immediate repairs.
