Contrary to arguments by the state, Michigan’s mandatory 24-hour waiting period to terminate a pregnancy does not add certainty to the decision of those seeking an abortion, according to expert testimony Friday.

Abortion providers had sued the state last year, arguing a ballot proposal passed in 2022 makes certain abortion restrictions unconstitutional.
