WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KOLO) - The Nevada GOP says it has re-elected Chairman Michael McDonald. In a statement, the party called his re-election a show of unity and momentum heading into the 2026 midterm elections.

Americans share a belief in secure, fair and transparent elections — where every voice matters and every vote is counted. In Nevada, that belief was turned into action during the 83rd legislative session, which concluded on June 2.

As the 8 News Now Investigators first reported, a Las Vegas man who voted twice in the 2020 election with his deceased wife’s ballot was able to withdraw his plea on a felony charge and instead pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor as part of a plea deal where he avoided jail time and had to pay a $2,000 fine.
