Jared McCann's third-period goal and Joey Daccord's 26 saves lifted the visiting Kraken over the defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers in regulation.

Joey Daccord made 26 saves, and the Seattle Kraken defeated the Florida Panthers 2-1 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday. Kaapo Kakko and Jared McCann scored for the Kraken (25-29-4). Shane Wright had two assists.

SUNRISE, Fla. – Returning to the ice after a nearly two-week break, the Florida Panthers came up just short in a 2-1 loss to the Seattle Kraken at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday.

After not one but two failed zone clear attempts by the Panthers, one by Gus Forsling and another by Jesper Boqvist, Kappo Kakko found himself with the puck and plenty of space in the left circle, cutting to the net and sliding the puck under Sergei Bobrovsky to give Seattle a 1-0 lead.
