The Mammoth Mountain ski patroller who was caught up in an avalanche on February 14 has died as a result of her injuries. Claire Murphy died after being transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

On Valentine's Day, two Mammoth Mountain ski patrollers were caught in an avalanche in the Avy Chutes area of the resort.

Murphy was one of two ski patrollers swept away by an avalanche on Lincoln Mountain in the resort while doing avalanche mitigation following a heavy snowstorm, the resort said. It was closed to the public at the time. The second patroller was uninjured by the 11:30 a.m. avalanche, the resort said. Murphy was hospitalized with serious injuries.

The St. Louis Blues beat the Colorado Avalanche 3-1 in the Central Division matchup on Sunday night at the Enterprise Center. The Blues played an exceptional game with heavy forechecking to take time and space away from the Avalanche.
