The Oscars will officially defy gravity in 2025. On Monday morning, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Wicked stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande will bring their witchy magic to the Oscars stage.

As the date approaches, a clearer picture of what the Conan O’Brien-hosted 97th Annual Academy Awards will look like is starting to come into focus: The Hollywood Reporter reports that Wicked stars Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo are set to perform during the broadcast.

Doja Cat, Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande, LISA of Blackpink, Queen Latifah and RAYE have been announced as musical performers for this year’s 97th Annual Academy Awards. The Academy says they will participate in “showstopping performances celebrating the filmmaking community and some of its legends at the 97th Oscars”.

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, who star in the best picture-nominated blockbuster, are set to perform at the Academy Awards on Sunday, according to a news release. Doja Cat, Lisa of Blackpink, Queen Latifah and Grammy-nominated artist Raye will also be taking the stage.

Though no tunes from the blockbuster musical were eligible for Academy Award nominations, the Oscar-nominated actresses have been enlisted to perform anyway.

Ariana Grande is commenting on a stressful moment she had onstage — thanks to her dress. On Wednesday, February 19, the 31-year-old actress/singer attended the Wicked premiere in Tokyo, Japan, looking as ethereal as ever as she donned a strapless white satin gown and wore pink cherry blossoms in her hair.
