A simmering feud between New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and her handpicked lieutenant governor, Antonio Delgado, has boiled over after months of discord between the two Democrats culminated in what looked like a big breakup.

A simmering feud between New York Gov. Kathy Hochul and her number two, Lt. Gov. Antonio Delgado, has boiled over. After months of public discord, Delgado on Monday released a statement saying he won’t be on the governor’s reelection ticket next year and hinting that he might actually challenge her for the governor’s office.

He wouldn't say if he would challenge the Democratic governor in a primary or pursue a seat in Congress, as some of his supports have urged.
