Novo Nordisk is slashing the price of its blockbuster diabetes drug Ozempic for U.S. patients who self-pay or are uninsured.

Novo Nordisk revealed on Monday that US patients can now receive a month’s supply of Ozempic, a highly effective diabetes drug, for $499, for patients who pay for their treatment by themselves without using insurance.

Novo Nordisk said on Monday it was offering its diabetes drug Ozempic for $499 per month to eligible cash-paying patients with type 2 diabetes in the U.S. via its own pharmacy, a tie-up with telehealth service GoodRx and other platforms.
