Vidarbha on Monday retained its 17-member squad to take on Kerala in the final of the Ranji Trophy which will be played at the VCA Stadium here in Jamtha from Wednesday.

Vidarbha triumphed over Mumbai by 80 runs at the Jamtha Stadium, advancing to the Ranji Trophy final. Key performances included Harsh Dubey's five-wicket haul and Yash Thakur's pivotal breakthroughs.

"VCA's senior selection committee, which met on Monday, decided to retain the same squad that did duty in the semi-final against Mumbai. Akshay Wadkar will lead the side," the Vidarbha Cricket Association said on Monday.

For the old guard of Mumbai cricket, a season without Ranji Trophy title is largely considered a failure. But Ajinkya Rahane stated that he was overall a happy captain with the manner in which Mumbai’s men’s domestic season progressed.
