Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has declined to say which way he will vote on the assisted dying debate next week. He said he does not want to put pressure on other MPs by “indicating and adding to the conversation”.

Cabinet ministers are increasingly divided in public over the issue, which will be voted on in the Commons next week.
