Flu cases up in RI by 50% from last season. Why this year is worse than others
PROVIDENCE – If you feel like everyone around you is getting influenza – also known as the flu – you may not be entirely wrong. Influenza cases were up by about 50% compared to last January, according to data from Rhode Island’s Department of Health.
Of the 900 Californians who have succumbed to influenza this season, 15 were children, according to state public health data.
