Alaska Airlines has finally launched its first premium credit card, the Atmos Rewards Summit Visa Infinite, co-branded with Bank of America. The card, announced in March, offers rewards through the new Atmos Rewards loyalty program, access to Alaska Lounges and other benefits.

Alaska Airlines introduced Atmos Rewards: its own (and Hawaiian Airlines') loyalty programs, and a new high-end credit card as a means to woo high-value flyers. The expansion puts Alaska on more equal footing with bigger carriers by growing its footprint and providing increased benefits, destinations, and flexibility.

Alaska Airlines is getting into the industry's race for high-end credit cards and creating a combined frequent flyer program, called Atmos Rewards, with Hawaiian Airlines, which it acquired last year.
