LORAIN — The funeral for an Ohio police officer killed in the line of duty has been scheduled. As reported by News Center 7, Lorain Police Officer Phillip Wagner died Thursday from his injuries sustained in an ambush shooting on July 23.
Ohio Officer Brent Payne was released from the hospital after surviving an ambush attack that injured him and others, including a fatally wounded colleague.
The service will be closed to the public but will be televised live so the community can honor his life and service.
Wagner died Thursday after being shot in an ambush attack. Two other officers were wounded, with one suffering serious injuries.
