A woman shot and killed by South Gate police was the suspect in a shooting earlier in the morning outside of a California Closets store, police say.

A woman armed with a handgun was killed in a police shooting Monday morning in the southern Los Angeles County community of South Gate. The woman was in a car that LA Sheriff’s Department sources told NBC4 Investigates was the same car at the scene of a shooting earlier Monday in the Orange County community of Huntington Beach.

The shooting was reported at Skylab Road and Springdale Street around 7:15 a.m. Aerial footage showed investigators responding to an outdoor area of a California Closets building.
