Carlos Alcaraz came through a ferocious fourth-round firefight against a red-hot Andrey Rublev to win 6-7(5) 6-3 6-4 6-4 on Centre Court and keep his bid for a third successive Wimbledon title on track on Sunday.

Norrie, the last Briton standing in SW19, saw a match point saved in the third set against Nicolas Jarry in the previous round before eventually winning over five sets. Tim Henman and Andy Murray are the only other British stars to reach two Wimbledon quarter-finals this century.

Carlos Alcaraz has stretched his Wimbledon winning streak to 18 matches and returned to the quarterfinals as he pursues his third title in a row at the All England Club.
