NEW YORK (WJW) — New York City police on Monday morning investigated a potential emergency in Times Square that closed the area to traffic and pedestrians. The New York Police Department posted on social media asking people to avoid the area of West 43rd Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.

Police are looking for a suspect after Times Square in central Manhattan, New York City, was evacuated following a bomb threat. The NYPD was called at around 10.32 am local time to reports of a suspicious package at West 43rd Street and Seventh Avenue.
